We are looking at our options for antivirus software. Our current software is Avast Pro, which I like a lot; however, we are considering either upgrading to Avast Endpoint Protection Suite or looking at other possible options for similar software.
Main reasons I like Avast Pro: configurability, boot-time scan, software updater tool, and it seems more likely to find false positives than to miss a virus (which I like in a business setting because I check thoroughly on every alert).
Main reason to switch to endpoint: management console which doesn't require a domain server to run. Also, the price seems very reasonable.
Are there any other similarly priced and effective endpoint protection softwares out there which can be managed without a domain server? This is my first IT position, and they already had Avast Pro when I started. Thus, my only other antivirus experience is on my home computer, where I used AVG free until recently, when I changed to Avast free. I have also had some experience with an old version of Symantec endpoint which lingered on a few of our systems when I started, and McAfee, which came free for a year on a couple of tablets we purchased; I really don't like either of these (the version of Symantec was probably just old and newer versions may be better, but I know I'm not a fan of McAfee).
