So many times we see complaints about so and so's endpoint protection. We recently decided to implement System Center Endpoint Protection since we're entitled to it through our Open Value agreement. I was hesitant to leave Sophos because we had such great luck with it. However it didn't make financial sense to at least test something we'd already paid for.
So our testing has been going on for nearly 6 months. I'm happy to report that we haven't had an virus outbreaks or as important any performance complaints. I was nervous about this but we're looking good so far.
The best part is the other day we got some alerts from SCCM indicating that there was a virus outbreak that had been prevented and the viruses have been quarantined. Well it turns out that this was a cryptolocker variant that was mutating. MSCEP was on top of it through the mutations until we were finally able to bring the machine down and wipe it.
One educational reminder email sent out reminding folks not to open 'weird', 'strange' or suspicious looking emails and all is well.
I miss Sophos and the great folks over there but the cost savings for us to use a product we already paid for has made this worth it.
