Here at our business, we have many layers of security in place. Every once in a while, though, something slips through. Today I come in, sit down, and start going through emails. One was a forwarded email from an employee saying "I couldn't open this document, can you help me?"
It had a .doc attachment that looks like this when you preview it:
Obviously red flags go off and I tell her don't open it, but she had already tried so I have to find the extent of the damage. What struck me as odd and made me second guess it, is that it came via email from someone that emails half of our office daily, and it was a reply to an existing conversation.
Then I get another email about the same document. Then someone walks into my office saying they can't open a document. I quickly realize this email was sent to half our office and nearly EVERYONE is...
