Does encryption ransomware like Cryptolocker and it's ilk only encrypt locally attached drives?
Can it encrypt mapped drives or any network shares a user has permissions for?
I can cope with a PC getting encrypted, I'd just flatten it and reload but I have 4TB of shared data mapped to each domain users PC and if that got encrypted I have a much bigger recovery job on.
I can still get everything back from offsite backups but it will take time.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
